Operational transactions can be freely made throughout the system without regard to GL posting issues. These transactions are stored in a GL transactions file.
When the GL Generation is run, each transaction is compared against the GL Mapping Table to determine which GL accounts are to be assigned and posted to the General Ledger.
GL posting can occur at any time after the original transactions are made and can be reversed and run again if you wish to adjust your GL mapping.
