How can I be sure that DBA fits my company?

No off-the-shelf software package can ever fit 100% of any company's needs, but we believe the DBA Software Ezijobz Edition comes closer than any product we know of. The system is designed to be as flexible as possible with user-defined fields, formulas, and screens throughout. User-defined formulas for pricing, discounts, commissions, bills of material, and the Configurator capability give you the power to accommodate almost any requirement in these areas, no matter how complex.

Is custom programming needed for special requirements?

Customer programming in the sense of modifying the base program's source code is not needed with the DBA Software Ezijobz Edition. As a general rule, modifying any base software product risks incompatibility with future product updates and should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.

Within the base DBA Software product, you can perform all kinds of custom programming without source code. Using standard SQL statements you (or an outside programmer) can program formulas for pricing, discounts, commissions, bills of material, and product configurations. You can write SQL queries and output them to our built-in spreadsheet. And, without any programming at all, you can use our listing grids and analysis screens to create all kinds of lists and reports.

Can I import data from my old system?

Yes, DBA Software includes a data import utility that lets you import major master files such as customers, suppliers, inventory items, routings, and bills of material. The utility supports most commonly used data file formats.

What type of hardware and network will I need?

Because DBA Software uses state-of-the-art technology such as its Delphi programming language and Firebird SQL database, it does require minimum processor speeds, memory, and operating system to perform properly. Click on the following link for detailed system requirements.

Does DBA require Internet access?

DBA Software relies on the Internet for several key functions, listed below. For this reason, Internet access for all users is a recommendation of the system, although it is not mandatory. High-speed connections are preferable, wherever possible.
  • Product updates distribution
  • FAQ Knowledge Base access
  • Support requests and history
  • Customer communications
  • License key distribution

How can I connect multiple locations to one system?

If you have remote offices or users, the best way to connect them to the central system is via Microsoft Terminal Server (which we use in our office) or Citrix, which is a similar technology. These technologies allow remote users to access the system over the Internet either through a client program installed on the remote computer or through a web browser. Any experienced local network integrator should be able to help you install this technology.

Does DBA offer bar coding?

Yes. Inventory labels and job sheets (shop travelers) can optionally print with bar codes for stock counting and labor collection purposes. Virtually any form or report in the system can be edited if you want designated fields to print in bar code format.
